About DENOIR
A digital
photobooth
for the web.
DENOIR is a browser-based photobooth designed around one simple experience: open, allow camera, take photos, keep them.
Nothing is uploaded. Nothing is stored. No account is required. The experience begins the moment you press Enter Booth, and ends the moment you close the page.
Design direction
Quiet Gothic.
Editorial Noir.
DENOIR communicates sophistication, not spectacle. Dark, cinematic, minimal, intimate. Experimental without being inaccessible. The aesthetic references analog photography and editorial print, not digital maximalism.
Product principles
Less UI
The photograph is the hero. Every interface decision asks the same question: does this serve the photo, or compete with it?
Imperfection
Film grain. Dust. Light leaks. Slight exposure imperfections. Analog characteristics that remind you the moment was real.
Privacy
Your photos are processed entirely on your device. No server sees them. No account holds them. Delete the page and they're gone.
Editorial
Frames feel art-directed, not decorative. Each one is a specific mood, a specific feeling, not just a border.
Slow down
Interactions are calm and deliberate. Not hyperactive. A photobooth should feel like a moment, not a transaction.
If it looks too goth, remove 30%
DENOIR is noir and editorial, not gothic or dramatic. Sophisticated without being excessive. Quiet without being invisible.
No upload.
No account.
Just you and the camera.
The frames
DENOIR launches with seven core frames. Each is a specific editorial mood, not a generic border or template. Future collections will expand the range.
